The Brockbank residence was designed in collaboration with Mark, the owner who is an architect and now works as a project manager.
It is a pavilion style home, consisting of main residence, housing living area, 2 bedrooms, bathroom and laundry. The 2nd building contains a carport, office, bathroom and guest bedroom.
The floors are exposed aggregate polished concrete. A conventional timber frame carries ‘Mini-orb’ wall cladding on the outside with a hardwood post and beam look.
Extensive glazing to the North gives great solar access in winter. The top and bottom louvre windows give sufficient cross ventilation.
A mud brick wall as a wood heater surround acts as extra thermal mass.
